Guide to Easily Wax Your Eyebrows by Yourself

Advantages of grooming your eyebrows by yourself

Paying a visit to the salon for something as small as an eyebrow grooming can be not only pricey but also time-consuming. A lot of people are afraid to wax their eyebrows by themselves at home because they are scared to ruin the shape of their eyebrows. However, it is not a hard task to groom your eyebrows on your own and bring it to the perfect form. To get your desired eyebrow shape through waxing, you need to have the right waxing supplies, such as an eyebrow waxing kit or a wax warmer, as well as know the correct procedures to follow. The more you keep on waxing your eyebrows by yourself, you will be able to wax your eyebrows faster than before as you will get the hang of it.

Unlike threading, waxing is a hair removal method that is more effective as well as lasts a long time. Waxing gets rid of hair from its root, which is why it takes more time for the hair to grow up to the surface level of the skin and show up. Moreover, waxing removes every tiny hair present – giving you a smooth look. Another plus point of waxing is that it reduces your hair growth with time. Therefore, you might want to consider investing some money on buying a wax warmer and a good eyebrow waxing kit, rather than spending both your money and time on salons.

Disadvantages of grooming your eyebrows by yourself

One of the main drawbacks of waxing your eyebrows to get your desired shape is that it is hard to be super precise. Wax is sticky, and it is likely for the wax to cling on to a lot of hair at the same time. It can be a bummer if you are a newbie at waxing or grooming your eyebrows by yourself. Moreover, waxing is not always a friendly hair removal method for a skin that is sensitive.

Wax is meant to be warmed up using a wax warmer. However, if your wax is too hot, it could end up burning your skin. Also, sensitive skin is prone to showing up redness on the skin after waxing. Even if you use a branded eyebrow waxing kit or wax, sometimes waxing could still affect your skin if your skin is too sensitive. Also, no matter how gentle the waxing procedure is, your skin is at high risk of experiencing hyper pigmentation.

Note: To reduce the risk of experiencing hyper pigmentation after waxing, avoid direct contact with the sun right after waxing. Also, always apply a sunscreen to your skin after waxing.

Afterward, using a pair of eyebrow scissors, trim your eyebrows if needed. Next, look for some eyebrow shapes. To give yourself a clear working space, pin your hair out of the way. Then, to make a guideline, use an eyebrow pencil to fill in your eyebrows to the shape you desire. Next, use a pre-wax cleanser for sterilizing your eyebrows and its surrounding area. Afterward, lightly dust your eyebrows using baby powder.
